You might already know a lot about the New European Bauhaus from our previous posts on Facebook or LinkedIn. Now is the time to present the first major joint project dedicated to a sustainable rebuild of Ukrainian communities – a capacity building course!
This course was developed by the European Commission together with Ukrainian specialists (Ro3kvit, ReThink, others) for representatives of Ukrainian communities who will be involved in the reconstruction process.
The program consists of four modules:
Module 0: Introduction to the Capacity Building Program for the Reconstruction of Ukraine (March 16, 15:00 CET): will define the main policy framework for a program aimed at sustainable and inclusive reconstruction.
Module 1: Getting organized for reconstruction (April 3 – April 28, 2023): best practices for assessment and resource allocation, participation tools, and funding opportunities.
Module 2: Circular Economy and Energy Efficiency (May 1 – May 26, 2023): ways to incorporate circular economy principles into post-war community development strategies, smart, distributed grid solutions, autonomous energy, circular design and architecture, and chemical/physical recovery of materials for reuse.
Module 3: Housing Redevelopment and Maintenance (May 29 – June 23, 2023): different types of housing and the role of municipalities in housing management.
Please note that participation in the program involves pre-selection. We invite all those interested to join the Introductory Module of the course on March 16 (open to everyone!) at 15:00 CET, where you will be able to talk with representatives of the European Commission and future teachers, learn more about the selection criteria and ask your questions. Also, it is worth noting that registration is possible both for all modules and for separately selected modules too – simply according to your specialization and interests.

The course is developed and implemented by the New European Bauhaus program of the European Commission together with the Ukrainian public organizations Ro3kvit and ReThink in partnership with the Council of Architects of Europe, the project “Agreement of Mayors – East”, Eurocities, Housing Europe.
